Tuesdays 10 - 11:20am

Description
These sessions are designed as an introduction to the world of animals, animal care and Biology. They are full of fun and engaging activities that are suited to the age range and level of the participants. We recommend that you book all 5 sessions to get the full benefit from the program. WEEK 1 focuses on Classifications, the 5 Welfare Needs of animals and an introduction into animal care. WEEK 2 is all about the different diets that each animal needs, and how to make feed time fun through enrichment. WEEK 3 covers the importance of correct enclosures, enclosure design and the different requirements for different animals. WEEK 4 is perfect for those budding young Vets. Learn about animal health and the correct care of animals. Learn how to carry out health checks and spot signs of illness. WEEK 5 is all about the correct methods of handling different types of animals, and an introduction into training and behaviour. You will meet a selection of different animals at each session, with plenty of time for interactions and handling. Each session is 1 hour 20 minutes and is held at Cannock Library Manor Ave WS11 1AA Parent/ Carers must stay with children. (Is your 8-10yr old a true animal lover? Can you see them going to College or Uni to study Animal Care, and becoming a zookeeper, vet or biologist when they grow up? If so, this session might be too easy if they want more in-depth knowledge and animal care training. Our session for 8 - 14yr olds might be better suited for you) Younger or older siblings are welcome to attend the sessions with a full paying child, however the activities are aimed at the age range for the session. Younger siblings will not be allowed to participate in some activities due to safety.
